The government in Bostwana had previously proposed the Criminal and Procedure Bill which would have given authorities the ability to intercept communication between journalists and sources. The proposed bill sent shockwaves to journalists in Bostwana and media organisations abroad. However, media organisations in Southern Africa rallied and the bill has since been revised.
