Register to attend this African media and information festival directed at a diverse set of African media makers and media publics. You are invited to come and be a part of this premium media event hosted in collaboration with the Civic Tech Innovation Forum.
This inaugural festival will be hosted virtually from 13 – 17 September 2021 and will showcase new content styles and approaches, new audiences and great innovations in delivery. The conference will include a virtual expo, a joint opening plenary and closing plenaries, workshops and more. Some of the sessions will have English-French interpretation. See the programme for the full list.
The theme for this year’s festival is #DIYAfrica or ‘Do It Yourself”. We want to encapsulate the role of media and journalism in not just carrying new narratives, but also empowering different voices and amplifying the rise of new, independent actors in helping to define and drive the future of innovation in independent newsrooms across Africa.
We will be hosting several sessions and each session will interrogate key topics and challenges in the African media space.
We also have an exciting array of local and international speakers and a jam-packed programme. Here’s what you can expect from this dynamic 5-day festival:
• All-day exhibitions of African civic tech and the brightest digital media stars
• Civic tech and digital media innovation workshops
• Networking opportunities and social activities
