“Never underestimate the power of a good story.”

Multiple sources, experts and entrepreneurs have been gone on record saying that one of the things that separate the successful and unsuccessful founder is their ability to tell their story. As an entrepreneur, you are constantly trying to sell your vision to your investors, the media and most importantly, your customers. When our Jamlab Accelerator journey began, we thought that this only applied to the social entrepreneurs that we work with. As our six-month programme draws to a close, we have realised that these rules apply to us as an organisation as well. What does the future of Impact Chronicles look like?

First and foremost, we will be putting all the skills we learned into action. Never before have we worked so rigorously on our business model. We have found ourselves going back to the drawing board, iterating and finessing our product offering. As it turns out, there is more to storytelling than meets the eye. We have begun monitoring the most successful content and diversifying our content offering. We are telling stories with a purpose: to assist founders to grow their businesses and build sustainable business models. We will also be moving to video content in 2022.

On a personal level, the Jamlab Accelerator Programme has illuminated the future and helped me be more aware of the importance of infinite learning and consistency. I will certainly be making use of the skills I acquired during the programme.

The JamLab Accelerator is a six-month hothouse programme for journalism and media innovators. It is based at Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct in the heart of Johannesburg.
